Who Owns BYLT Basics?

Eric Mear founded BYLT Basics in 2016.

Eric Mear is the CEO and mastermind behind BYLT Basics. He founded the company in 2016 and has built a solid reputation for creating high-quality clothing that prioritizes comfort, performance, and dope styles. His craft for turning ambitious ideas into tangible success has been the driving force behind BYLT’s exponential rise.

You can follow him on LinkedIn or Instagram.

Mear’s entrepreneurial streak started early, back in his days at the USC Marshall School of Business from 2008 to 2012. While still a student, he founded MISC in 2008, his first business venture. By 2010, he was at it again, launching Privacy Pop, where he served as President until 2019. These ventures not only disrupted their markets but also set the stage for the innovation he would bring to BYLT Basics.

Since launching BYLT, Mear has transformed the brand into a thriving operation built on custom-blend fabrics designed for comfort and practicality. But his vision goes deeper than just crafting great basics—he’s challenging the way we think about everyday apparel. Trust me, I spend way too much on this brand.

Advice: Knowing how to wear athleisure for work is all about balance—think tapered joggers with a polo or a sleek hoodie layered under a blazer. Focus on neutral colors and clean lines to keep the look polished and professional.

In November 2023, Mear took BYLT to the next level with a high-profile partnership with former NFL star Rob Gronkowski. The collaboration reflects their commitment to quality and innovation, solidifying BYLT’s presence in the premium apparel game. Based in Southern California with a flagship store in Irvine, Mear’s vision continues to shape BYLT Basics into a brand redefining wardrobe staples.

BYLT Clothing uses custom-blend fabric technologies to offer advanced comfort, quality, and performance in their products. They are known for their high-quality materials, including Pima cotton and bamboo, which provide softness, durability, and breathability.

If you love BYLT, these BYLT alternatives might just steal your heart—and your wallet.
